Matt Cline has got a thing for getting the most out of really old - 100+ years old cranky vines and sandy gravelly soil. A big red that's not a cab.
As soon as that cork starts popping your senses are flooded with deep, inky & explosive aromas, flavours and sips of blueberry, sweet currants and spice. The wine is 94% Petite Sirah co-fermented with 4% Carginane and 2% Mataro.
Matt and his wife Erin really concentrate on making wine from the old vines of California's "heritage" varietals: Zinfandel, Mataro, Carignane, Alicante Buschet and Petite Sirah.
