This 1731 British West Indies XO Rum is a blended rum former British colonies; Barbados, Trinidad and Jamaica.
This blend contains rums of Foursquare, Hampden Estate and Moneymusk and so both pot still and column still distilled. These rums have been blended and bottled by the independent rum bottler 1731.
In 1731 the British navy decided to provide a cup of rum to each sailor each and every day as a part of his wage. 1731 Rum is an ode to that. We love this range of rums as they are not coloured nor is any sugar added and they have all fully aged in the climate of the distillery.
The age of this blend varies between 0 and 8 years old and this blend was bottled as a small batch release of 46% ABV.
On the nose~ tropical fruit, honey, molasses, milk chocolate and oak.
One the palate~ more oak with chocolate, light spices, fruit and sweet coconut with a long finish. Moreish!
