 ~Jemma's Random & Moreish Finds
If you relish the hunt for wine that takes your palate on an adventure and satisfies your curiosity, then you’ll love this months wine club. I have an affinity for the ‘odd bunch’ the ‘moreish’ the ‘unctuous’ and the ‘brave.’ Once I had discovered the savvies and the merlots I felt way more drawn to drinking the unusual and obscure so we decided that this month I’m gonna satisfy your adventurous spirit within and grace your tasting with my latest weird and wonderful finds from NZ and across the globe.
Expect the unexpected. XO JEM

The first rule of Wine Club is you don't miss Wine Club.

This month we're exploring Syrah & Chardonnay!

The spiritual homeland of the Chardonnay & Syrah grape is France. What makes these grapes so exciting is that they have both been planted all over the world to great success. They both express themselves differently depending on the climate, soil and regional style, though certain characteristics remain the same.

For those of you who don't drink Chardonnay- challenge you to come and expand your horizons! Chardonnay doesn't just naturally taste like a bad batch of beurre blanc. It's actually one of the most neutral grapes in the world. This neutrality allows Chardonnay to be heavily influenced by where it is grown, picking up flavors and characteristics from its soil and climate (that terroir, babyyy).

For those of you who want to understand the difference between Syrah & Shiraz or an absolutely fabulous glass of Chardonnay versus Chablis - come to wine club this month and let's set the record straight!

Both grapes deserve your love and applause!

At our wine tastings at Fantail & Turtle we pour wines of integrity & authenticity, wines that speak of their terroir, we share stories about the wine-makers that cherish their vineyards and look after the environment. We pour wines for people who care, made by people who care. Sip on a journey through wine on the last Wednesday of every month. Each meeting brings 6 wines, cheese & good company. Hosted by long time wine lover Jemma Grobbelaar.

We stand firmly by our ethos - wine is only as good as the company you drink it with.
